Our Program

Our students love preschool! This is an exciting time for children as they embark on their journey of education. Our passionate, caring, and qualified teachers partner with parents to empower children and help them to discover who they are. Children develop the skills needed to be successful in kindergarten. Young children learn best by doing and experiencing life. Our classroom programs offer students many opportunities to discover and play. Teachers set aside time daily for students to hear a story read to them, create in arts and crafts, engage in music by dancing to the beat of their favorite songs, explore our world, and play with their friends on our preschool playground.Call today and schedule a tour of our campus. You will be glad you did.

VPK

Our Voluntary Prekindergarten Program welcomes children into a bright community of learners focused on essential foundational skills to ease your child’s transition to kindergarten and aid in a successful year. Program objectives were developed from the Beyond Centers & Circle Time – Scaffolding and Assessing the Play of Young Children developed by The Creative Center for Childhood Research and Training, Inc. (CCCRT) and are presented within a developmentally appropriate curriculum. Emphases include phonics, handwriting, emergent math, social preparation, and kindergarten readiness. We take pride in our Pre-K teacher's ability to provide structured learning environments and guide their children’s intellectual learning through a balance of self-directed, purposeful play, guided centers, and large group activities. All Pre-K children are assessed using the Florida Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) Assessment three times a year to ensure your child is meeting developmental objectives. The staff looks forward to partnering with you in the education of your child.

First Lutheran Preschool offers flexible schedules to meet the needs of your family. Call today to schedule a tour of our program. We look forward to partnering with you in providing a rock solid foundation for your child.

Learn More

Chart a course for adventure and equip your child with the skills he/she needs to navigate the road of life. Children learn best by doing. They gain knowledge about themselves, others and the world around them through meaningful interactions with materials and people. Our Early Childhood Programs are designed to meet the developmental needs of young children and obtain a firm footing on the road of life. Activities and play include the opportunity for spiritual, social, emotional, intellectual and physical growth. The daily routine includes: guided play, art, activity centers, literacy time, worship, music, group time, snack, outdoor play and story time. Our low child-to-adult ratio, an average of two teachers per 16 children, makes for a positive and nurturing environment.

Developmental Goals

  • To provide opportunities for children to learn and grow

  • To help each child develop a healthy self-concept within the framework of God's love;

  • To encourage independence, develop self-confidence, and respect individuality by providing a warm, safe and loving environment;

  • To help children get along well with others;

  • To provide stimulating and productive experiences and activities to help children become enthusiastic learners;

  • To celebrate the early childhood years as creative and wonder-filled years.
